Our 14 day / 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Course is the natural next step following a foundational 200hr program. The strong base you built in the Level 1 course will now be nurtured into professional skills as a Yoga teacher in this Level 2 advanced training course.

Learn new skills, explore advanced poses and become qualified to lead your own yoga training. Train with world-class western and eastern instructors who will take you further into the physical and theoretical aspects of Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin yoga. You will also dive deeper in meditation, philosophy, and anatomy

What You Will Learn   (In-Person + Online Studies)

Discover your true self and deeper nature of reality through the sacred wisdom of ancient yogic philosophy. Learn to apply these lessons in the real world to cultivate a holistic lifestyle. Topics include the vedas, yoga sutras, Bhagavad Gita, 8 limbs, nature of self/soul, nadis, chakras, consciousness, karma, gunas, ego, tantra and more.

Gain a deeper understanding of bodily systems, structures and principles underlying each movement and of yoga itself. See how specific muscles respond to the movements of the joints with biomechanics; how the spine, breathing and body positions are all fundamentally linked.

Dive deeper into the form and function of asanas from various categories. Learn about their common foundation and how to build upon it in order to achieve correct alignment, advanced variations and modifications for different levels, styles, and needs.

Learn teaching skills, cueing, sequencing, corrections and adjustments. Practice teaching everyday and design original classes. Receive detailed feedback and become a confident instructor.

Training in Thailand

Half your training, 21 days 150 hours, takes place in Koh Phangan, Thailand. This includes daily guided hatha / vinyasa practice, pranayama and meditation, teaching practice, special workshops for aerial, acro and SUP yoga, special events like ecstatic dance, sound healing and detoxifying sauna excursions. You will also review and go deeper into the online studies, analytics, anatomy and philosophy

Training Online

This training includes 150 hours of online studies hosted on Thinkific, consisting of pre-recorded videos, readings and quizzes. These studies cover all topics to give you a comprehensive intro, but focus mainly on the more difficult subjects such as philosophy, anatomy and analytics. You have 1 year to complete your online studies, but you can do them in just 21 days, before (preferably) or after your in person training. There is also a Telegram chat group with over 1000 students and instructors who can help you day or night. Plus there are optional zoom classes, which you can join live or watch post recordings of later.

RYT Certificate

ULU Yoga is a 200/300/500-hour registered school with Yoga Alliance ID 198078. Yoga Alliance is the number one most widely accepted teaching certification. Be aware of imitation certificates with similar names like Yoga Alliance International or Yoga Alliance AU, etc... After completing this course you will receive a 200 Hour MultiStyle Yoga Teacher Training Certificate and become qualified to teach professionally hatha and vinyasa yoga, plus basic aerial, acro and SUP yoga. You can also join Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher.

Location

ULU Yoga seriously has one of the best locations in Thailand. You are just 5 min walk from three incredible beaches. Bounty Resort has its own small private beach, which is totally undeveloped and natural. To the left is serene Secret Beach which has great swimming, shady trees and just one resort, which is incredibly magical at night. To the right is Haad Yao beach, which is long and wide with many resorts, live music, dance and activities.

Koh Phangan, Thailand

Generally speaking, Koh Phangan is a magical bohemian island with endless pristine beaches, lush green nature, mountains and waterfalls. Unlike Koh Samui or Phuket, there are no big crowds, traffic, pollution, shopping malls or airport, but it still has modern conveniences and everything you need. Koh Phangan is famous for crazy parties, but that is in the far south. ULU Yoga is in the north west Sri Thanu / Haad Yao region where all the other yoga and wellness centres are located. Ask anyone who has traveled here, it's an absolute gem.

Accommodation

This course takes place at the serene Bounty Resort, which sits between 3 perfect beaches. You can also just pay tuition and choose a more upscale accommodation next door at Haad Son Resort or Hi Life Bungalows.

Bounty Resort has deluxe sea view rooms with large balconies, tv and fridge; Garden bungalows (fan) have comfy hammocks with great ocean views; Garden rooms (fan and a.c.) are more modern with partial sea view balconies. Shared rooms (a.c.) have two beds and higher level sea views.

All rooms have: super fast wi-fi, private bathrooms, towels, toiletries and tea kettle. The resort also has a great restaurant, swimming pool, laundry service, ATM, motorbike rental, pick up and drop off service, travel and tour assistance.

Yoga Shala

The exact location and conditions of the ULU Yoga shala are also ideal for several reasons. It is a 5min walk uphill from the beach, has tinted sliding glass windows, a solar reflective roof and many fans. You don’t want a shala right on the beach, it’s too hot and the weather can be very intense and unpredictable. Shalas with only screens or plastic roll drops do not provide full coverage and are always breaking down. Open air shalas are the worst and full of mosquitos. You don’t want a shala too far from the beach either, the roads are very dangerous even for experienced riders and taxis can be hard to find and expensive.

Diet & Nutrition

FREE Breakfast includes a delicious tropical fruit smoothie bowl. For lunch and dinner (average $6 per meal) you can eat at the resort or go out with the ULU Yoga team who will encourage, but not force you to make healthy choices 😉 There are so many wonderful village markets, beach bars and boutique cafes to explore. ULU Yoga recommends to follow a vegan intermittent fasting diet, which will save you time, money and offer a tremendous boost to your health and wellbeing.

Sauna & Ice Bath

Purge your body of toxins in the hot sauna then rejuvenate with an ice bath. Boost your immune system, circulation and metabolism. Reduce inflammation and recovery time from workouts and illness. This combination gives you extra protection from catching colds and viruses such as Covid.

Level 2 - Advanced Yoga Training

  • This is an advanced training, but you are not required to master super advanced poses. Each morning and evening includes traditional hatha or vinyasa yoga practice plus meditation and pranayama. You will receive expert guidance and adjustments. There is also 1-2x week aerial, acro, yin and SUP yoga.

  • Build upon your 200hr YTT knowledge and look deeper into the form and function of asanas from various categories. Learn about their common foundation and how to build upon it in order to achieve correct alignment, advanced variations and modifications for different levels, styles, and needs.

  • Learn teaching skills, cueing, sequencing, corrections and adjustments. Practice teaching everyday and design original classes. Receive detailed feedback and become a confident instructor.

  • Special classes include yoga for injuries, hands on adjustments, transitions, sequencing, class design, prenatal yoga, mantra singing, advanced pranayama and meditation techniques, working with props and more.

I had the best experience with Ulu! The setting was on an island in Thailand- the resort was right next to the beach, and the weather was beautiful!!! There was a breakfast buffet everyday, which was amazing. And the beach (Haad Yao) was so picturesque. There were several instructors, and they were all amazing and knowledgeable! I loved how they put an emphasis on safety and how the poses are for each person's body. The course was a lot more intense than I had anticipated- but you learn a lot, and you get a lot of teaching practice. For Travel Info ULU Yoga is happy to assist your travel arrangements. Please contact us to help reserving ferry, taxis, or whatever else you need. You can also visit the ‘ferry Samui’ website, which has very detailed info for travel and booking all over Thailand. Plan to fly into Bangkok early morning to streamline connecting flights and ferries to Koh Phangan all in one day.

From Bangkok, take a flight to Koh Samui Airport (1-hour, $100-150), then take a ferry to Koh Phangan (30-minute, 400 THB), then take a taxi to Bounty Resort (20-minute, 200-300 THB). A cheaper option is from Bangkok, take a flight to Surat Thani Airport (1-hour, $40- 60), then take a bus and ferry to Koh Phangan (4.5-hour, 470 THB), then take a taxi to Bounty Resort (20-minute, 200-300 THB).

ULU Yoga provides aerial swings, yoga mats, printed manuals and drinking water. You should also buy a SIM card at the airport or 7/11 for good data connection.  (Check with your local Thai embassy for updated travel and visa info regarding COVID-19.)

This course will follow CDC guidelines for social distancing, wearing masks and using hand sanitizer.
